Andras Schreck

P. Andras Schreck, B.A., M.A., LL.B., C.S.,
P. Andras Schreck graduated from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law in 1994 and was called to the Ontario Bar in 1996. His practice includes the representation of clients in trial courts, the Ontario Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Canada on a variety of matters, including conspiracy, fraud, drug offences and homicide. A substantial part of his practice is devoted to appellate matters. He has been counsel on a number of notable cases, including R. v. Sinclair, R. v. Willier, R. v. McCrimmon (scope of s.10(b) of the Chater), R. v. Suberu (Section 10(b) of the Charter and investigative detentions) R. v. Pan; R. v Sawyer (constitutionality of jury secrecy), R. v. Russell (scope of review on certiorari), R. v. D.(D.) (expert evidence and delayed disclosure), R. v. Zarinchang (remedy for delayed bail hearing), R. v. Sherret-Robinson (wrongful conviction reversed on appeal) R. v. Badgerow (right to counsel on arrest), R. v. Sauve and Trudel (contents of unsavoury witness warnings) R. v. White (admissibility of confessions that are not videotaped), R. v. McCallen (constitutional right to counsel of choice) and R. v. Koh, Lim and Lu (right of visible minorities to challenge jurors for cause). Andras has been certified by the Law Society of Upper Canada as a Specialist in Criminal Law since 2003.
Andras is a vice-president of the Ontario Criminal Lawyers' Association, an Adjunct Professor at the University of Toronto Faculty of Law and a member of the Canadian Civil Liberties Association and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He frequently contributes to continuing legal education programs for lawyers and judges organized by the National Judicial Institute, the Advocates Society, the Ontario Criminal Lawyers' Association, the Ontario Bar Association and the Law Society of Upper Canada and has commented on legal matters for CBC television and radio and CTV Newsnet.
Jill Presser

Jill R. Presser, B.A. (Hons), LL.B.,
Jill R. Presser was called to the Ontario Bar in 1997 after receiving her LL.B. from the Faculty of Law, McGill University in 1994.
Jill’s practice is primarily devoted to trial and appellate criminal defence. She regularly appears before courts at all levels. Jill also represents clients in administrative and regulatory matters. She defends clients facing a broad range of criminal charges including serious violent crimes, drug offences, white collar offences, and domestic assaults, among others.
Jill was a staff lawyer to the Hon. Stephen Goudge on the Commission of Inquiry into Pediatric Forensic Pathology in Ontario. She has published a number of case comments and articles relating to issues in the criminal law. Some of these have been cited by the Supreme Court of Canada.
Jill is often appointed amicus curiae by the Court of Appeal for Ontario in appeals involving unrepresented mentally disordered appellants. She also assists the Court of Appeal for Ontario as duty counsel for unrepresented inmate and in-person appellants.
Jill has served as a lawyer member of the Consent and Capacity Board of Ontario since 2006. In this capacity, she presides over hearings and adjudicates civil mental health issues. She also prosecuted criminal matters on behalf of the Attorney General of Ontario on a part-time basis from 2001 to 2007.
Candice Suter

Candice Suter, B.Sc. (Hons), J.D.
Candice Suter graduated from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law in 2006. She was called to the Bar in 2007 after completing her articles as a judicial law clerk at the Ontario Superior Court of Justice. Before joining our firm, she practiced with a well-known and senior member of the criminal defence bar.
Candice represents clients at trials and on appeal on a variety of matters, including professional discipline matters, drug offences, white collar crime and homicides. She has appeared in all levels of Court. She was counsel in the Supreme Court of Canada on R. v. Sinclair; R. v. Willier ; and R. v. McCrimmon, three cases about the the scope of the constitutional right to counsel. Candice is a member of the Criminal Lawyers’ Association.
